I absolutely adore my Crop-a-dile.

I think it's the best thing sense sliced bread. It effortlessly cuts through tin! In fact I used it on my tin ceiling project. It cuts through chip board, leather, bottle caps and a host of other materials...

However, since seeing Michele B. with hog-ring pliers.. in this project.

I got it - I got it.. I have my Hogring pliers... Now I will chain EVERYTHING 11/16" or less together LOL

I am confused. I went to the links that you two posted and still cannot grasp the idea of what the pliers even do. I understand the Crop a dile ones, but the Hog Ring ones??? And NJ Tomboy I went to ebay to take a look at the pliers and they look nothing like what Michelle sells in here store. Are you sure that they are going to work the same? Will someone explain to me what the hog ring pliers actually do?

How-To Junky, I am not sure where you looked, but the hogring pliers I got are EXACTLY like Michele's. I got the Bostitch P7 Hog Rig Plier. Yes, there are different varieties. However, if are not familiar with them, I suggest ordering them from Michele's site. You will pay a little bit more - but atleast you will get the correct ones.

The best I can explain is tha the hogring pliers (stapler) link things together like a heavy duty jump rings.... My particular one makes 11/16" diameter circles.


You have to see the show in order to get a better understanding. Email Michele directly, maybe she can further asist you.

I've never posted a picture before, but we'll give this a try. Here's what the hog-ring pliers look like. I think NJTomboy explained what they're used for quite well. Michele often uses them to connect two materials together instead of using wire. The hog-ring pliers seem to be a lot easier to work with (and do a much quicker job). Let me know if I can help you with any further assistance.

I bought my Hog ring plier from Michele! I couldn't find it anywhere so I sent an email asking where she got hers. They sell them because they had received other emails from folks who we unable to find it. I don't know if they are still available in her store, but I'd certainly ask her.

I have found that Michele is fantastic about helping her fans find items that she used during one of her shows. She has also helped me locate
thin brick, how awesome is that!

when I first saw Michelle use the hog nose pliers, I flipped out, I had to have some, I bought 2 pair, medium and large, could only find them at our Agri Supply (farm supply store). if you do jewelry, they are like large jump ring pliers. now I make my own larger wire rings, that way I can use whatever type of wire I want. I love them.
I'm checking out that Crop a dile, I think I need them too even though I don't scrapbook, if they punch holes in metal and heavy stuff.

the hog ring pliers I found at the farm supply store are the manual ones that are less than $10. you just insert the ring and squeese it shut.
